Our next Monday Morning in Reserves outing will be revisiting BJ Hubbard Reserve – Evelyn Road Ringwood North (Melways 49 G4) on Monday 1st December. B J Hubbard reserve is 7 hectares in North Ringwood which has remnant bush containing some locally rare plants and significant species and revegetation areas. If you would like to join us we will be meeting in the carpark at 9am and then spending some time exploring the reserve and doing some hand weeding as we go. Tools and morning tea will be provided please wear sturdy shoes and bring your own gloves.
This Saturday November 27 is the final Saturday opening for 2014 we are still well stocked with a good range of plants and are offering some special prices this weekend to reduce the amount of stock we hold over summer. Plant sales will be continuing on Wednesdays and Fridays during volunteer sessions over summer.
There are currently roadworks being done in Greenwood Ave and some detours have been set up but we have been assured that access to the site will be available throughout the process which may take a couple of weeks.
We have at the nursery some samples of A4 prints of the botanical art work of Ruth Jackson featuring local species. These have been block mounted and ready for framing and are available to order for $40 each. Some of the prints available are Pattersonia occidentalis, Dianella laevis, Pterostylis nutens, Eucalyptus goniocalyx and Arthripodium milleflorum.
Our End of Year celebration BBQ will be held at the nursery on Saturday 13th December from 12pm – 3pm. BBQ and drinks will be provided – bringing a salad or sweet to share would be appreciated. RSVP by 5th December if you are planning to attend.
Over the Christmas period volunteer sessions will continue as usual except for December 26th which is Boxing Day.
