Our AGM has been booked for Thursday March 2nd at 7.30pm. It will be held at Maroondah Federation Estate, 32 Greenwood Ave Ringwood. The AGM is a great opportunity to meet other members, catch up on nursery projects and hear about what is happening in our local bushland reserves. Our guest speaker for the meeting will be Craig Mauger – Bushland Team Leader for Maroondah City Council. All committee positions become vacant as of the AGM and, as a number of existing members will be retiring, there is opportunity for new members to join the committee. If you would like information about committee roles please contact one of the current members or the nursery. Nomination forms are available from the nursery.

First Friends of Dandenong Creek will also be hosing a presentation by Melbourne Water on the progress of the Enhancing Our Dandenong Creek project.

Melbourne Water is currently refining the design for the revitalisation of an 850m section of Dandenong Creek between the railway bridge in Bayswater and H.E. Parker Reserve in Heathmont. The project will remove 850m of pipe, and bring the daylight back to the creek (daylighting) by constructing a naturalised waterway in its place. This is by far the most significant project in our area of the creek in the history of FFDC.
