Bushcare Major Day Out

Bushcare’s Major Day Out is a national day of community participation to restore
remnant bushland.

This year it will be held on or around Sunday 11 September and there are five
local Maroondah sites among the 270+ sites across Australia.

CRISP (Community of Ringwood Indigenous Species Plant) Nursery, 17 Greenwood
Ave, Ringwood
3 September, 10am–3pm
Find out more about local native plants and get useful tips for designing and
establishing a habitat to attract native birds.

Bungalook Conservation Reserves, between Ormond Place and Tereddan Drive,
Kilsyth South
10 September, 9.30am–1pm
Take a nature walk to see highlights of this nationally significant cluster of
reserves, with plenty of wildflowers and birds. Help with hand removal of weeds
and litter collection.

Help spread mulch and plant indigenous plants along a popular walking/cycling
track next to the creek.

Warrien Reserve, Warrien Road, Croydon North
11 September, 9am–12.15pm
Come and meet other enthusiastic local people caring for Warrien Reserve – a
designated Site of Biological Significance in the City of Maroondah. Activities
include general bushland maintenance. All welcome including kids (with
supervision). Free refreshments.

Get involved in a planting activity around the wetlands and join others for a
free BBQ lunch. All ages are welcome, but small children need constant
