Our next Monday Morning in the Reserves outing will be on Monday 22nd August. We will be meeting at 9am in Cheong Street East Ringwood – opp number 13 (Mel 50 E6). We will be spreading some mulch and planting 150 tubestock in the reserve adjoining the railway corridor. All tools and morning tea will be provided – please bring your own gloves.
Our next seed cleaning evening will be Wednesday 31st August. We will meet in the tearoom at the nursery at 7pm and prepare collected seed for storage and sowing. Supper will be provided.
Upcoming Events
CRISP Nursery Spring Plant Sale will be on Saturday 3rd Sept from 10am – 3pm. There will be information on making bird friendly gardens, 10% off all plant purchases and a display of Botanical Illustrations by local illustrator Ruth Jackson. Prints and Cards will be available for purchase.
The Warranwood Reserve Committee has a Biennial General Meeting (BGM) on Wed Sep 7th at 7.30pm at the Kurboroo Kindergarten in Bemboka Rd., Warranwood.
After the formal (BGM) meeting, an ecologist, Michael Smith will be giving a talk/ presentation about the interaction of plants and insects.
Michael is a trained ecologist and currently works in bush management/restoration and teaches sustainability. Michael previously worked in biodiversity management and bio-control. His main environmental interests are biodiversity and biotic relationships, eg plant and insect relationships.
