CRISP Nursery News

The CRISP winter newsletter has been sent out in the past week. Many thanks to Linda for the amazing job she does in editing and layout. If you haven’t received a newsletter it may be because we have incorrect information in our system or your membership has expired. Please contact us if you do not receive a newsletter and would like to.

 All memberships are due for renewal from July 1st. You can renew in person at the nursery, by sending a cheque with your renewal information to CRISP Nursery PO Box 706 Heathmont 3135 or by direct deposit BSB 033 044 Account number 149422 (Ensure you put your name in the details section so we can update your membership)

 We are open for Plant Sales every Wednesday and Friday from 9.30 – 12.30 and Saturday from 10am – 1pm. The Sales Area is well stocked with a great variety of plants in tubestock and 6” pots. Please note plant sales are by cash only unless prior arrangement has been made.

 Our AGM is coming up in August.

CRISP members are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting which will be held on Friday 16th August at 7.30 pm at Maroondah Federation Estate (32 Greenwood Avenue, Ringwood).

 You will hear from the President and Treasurer about the activities and developments at CRISP over the last 12 months, followed by a vote on changes to the CRISP Constitution and an election of Committee members.

 As part of the CRISP 20th birthday celebrations we have invited speakers to talk about the history of the nursery.   Ken McInnes, a founding member, will recall the early years and how the nursery was set up with community involvement.  Brad Curtis will also discuss the nursery’s beginnings plus bushland conservation in Maroondah.  Many of our members will remember Brad from his tireless efforts as the Council’s Bushland Coordinator.   Ian Gray will interview Brad and host a Q&A session during which you will be able to share your memories.

 Seed Cleaning and Seed Sowing evening Wednesday 7th August from 7pm – 9pm

Spring Planting Sale (and Working Bee) – September is Biodiversity Month and to help play our part in increasing local biodiversity we will be having a Plant Sale on Saturday September 7th 10am – 1pm

 Open Garden – our Guest Speaker at last years AGM, Rob Henry is holding an Open Garden as part of the Victorian Open Garden Scheme on 10th and 11th August from 10am – 4.30pm, 3 Eugenia Crt Boronia  – Cost $7 per personhttp://www.opengarden.org.au/events/vic_events.html#vic-winter
